With the opening of ICANN’s new application window for generic top-level domains (gTLDs) in 2026, the domain name industry is experiencing a new wave of expansion. Two emerging companies and industry insiders have announced their top-level domain application plans, and several new domain name strings are expected to be launched, enriching the internet domain name resource system.
It is reported that T0M_3D has officially announced the establishment of suffix.domains, formally entering the top-level domain operation field. The company has submitted more than ten core gTLD string applications to ICANN, namely .asap, .create, .future, .lfg, .mvp, .out, .pal, .planet, .research, .share, .tag, .this, and .visit, focusing on general-purpose domains. The company stated that it will fully pay the relevant application fees and operate all the top-level domains submitted, positioning itself in the general internet identifier track.

Meanwhile, veterans in the domain name industry are joining forces to launch new domain name applications. Michael Brend, founder of domain parking company HotKeys, and Josh Jones, former CEO and co-founder of DreamHost, jointly established Endpoint Domains, simultaneously completing multiple top-level domain (gTLD) applications and paying in full.
The company has publicly announced eight applied domains, showcasing a more diverse and personalized style, including .big, .fab, .fart, .ftw, .happy, .nsfw, .private, and .true, covering niche use cases such as fun, privacy, and personal expression.

Oinkadot has also applied for 25 new gTLDs, including .anime, .bit, and .bug.

This new round of gTLD applications represents a significant expansion of domain resources after many years. The eagerness of numerous companies to participate highlights the core value of top-level domains in digital branding and niche market operations, and also foreshadows a more diversified and segmented future internet domain system, providing more choices for individuals and businesses in their digital strategies.
