DNS Belgium Releases Study on Phishing in ccTLDs

DNS Belgium, in collaboration with SIDN and IE Domain Registry Limited, has published an international study analyzing phishing activities across .be, .nl, and .ie domains. The study examined over 28,000 domains and revealed that 80% of phishing attacks involve compromised websites rather than newly registered domains, likely to save costs. Microsoft, Google, Netflix, and PayPal are the most impersonated brands, accounting for 58% of phishing incidents across the three ccTLDs. Banks, financial institutions, and IT companies are the primary targets of cybercriminals.
