Dubai-based office furniture company Workspace Furniture Industry recently acquired the domain name workspace.com for $1.45 million, making it the highest publicly disclosed domain name transaction this year so far.

The company announced the acquisition on its official website at the end of January, and the transaction was completed the previous day through the Escrow.com platform. The transaction price was not mentioned in the official announcement, but was revealed to Domain Name Wire by Richard Coogan, the domain broker responsible for the transaction, who also provided screenshots as evidence. Coogan represented the unnamed seller.

Workspace Furniture Industry stated that the acquisition aligns with the company’s long-term growth strategy, with a vision to become a globally recognized leader in innovative workspace solutions. It is understood that workspace.ae will continue to serve as the company’s core operating platform in the UAE and surrounding region, while the newly acquired workspace.com will be used as a broader digital window to showcase the company’s product portfolio, expertise, and design-oriented solutions to a global audience.
Currently, workspace.com links to a separate website that comprehensively showcases the company’s overall business layout, helping it expand into international markets and enhance its global brand influence.
