The new .MUSIC top-level domain has officially opened for registration, exclusively for verified members of the music community. Registrants must activate their domain via id.music, an identity service provider, ensuring their authenticity. This verification aims to prevent unauthorized use of AI-generated content like deepfakes and voice cloning. According to Constantine Roussos, CEO of DotMusic Limited, the initiative focuses on distinguishing genuine human-created music from AI-generated works, offering stronger copyright protection for artists and creators.
