Valencia-based startup Maisa has secured €4.7 million in pre-seed funding to develop its Vinci Knowledge Processing Unit (KPU), the world’s first agentic AI system that ensures transparency and auditability through its unique Chain-of-Work (CoW) approach.
The funding round, led by NFX, included participation from Village Global (backed by Mark Zuckerberg, Eric Schmidt, and Jeff Bezos), Sequoia scout, and DeepMind PM Lukas Haas.
Maisa’s Vinci KPU stands out by eliminating the “black box” problem in traditional AI systems. Unlike probabilistic models, it leverages deterministic reasoning, delivering traceable and auditable outputs. Early adopters include industries like automotive, energy, and finance, where the technology optimizes operations while ensuring compliance.
CEO David Villalón highlighted the impact of their technology:
“This innovation brings transparency to AI, reducing risks for businesses and enabling groundbreaking applications.”
Maisa plans to use the funding to enhance its capabilities and expand its market reach, focusing on sectors like financial services, supply chain, and research.
