Current CEO Kurtis Lindqvist announced plans to step down in June
The London Internet Exchange (LINX) has officially announced the appointment of Jennifer Holmes as its new Chief Executive Officer, effective December 5, 2024. Holmes will succeed Kurtis Lindqvist, who is transitioning to a new role as the CEO and President of ICANN, based in Geneva.
Leadership Transition
Jennifer Holmes first joined LINX in 2007 as a member of the sales team and has steadily risen through the ranks. Most recently, she has served as the Chief Commercial Officer since 2019 and joined the Board of Directors in 2023. Holmes’ extensive experience and deep understanding of LINX’s operations have made her a unanimous choice for the role.
Pieter Knook, Chair of the LINX Board of Directors, commented on the appointment:
“The board was unanimous in their choice for Jennifer. We appreciated her authenticity, her ability to connect with members, staff, and the board. We believe she will provide the best possible leadership for LINX in the future. I am looking forward to working with Jennifer and wish to thank Kurtis for his outstanding leadership over the last five years.”
A New Chapter for LINX
Expressing her excitement, Jennifer Holmes said:
“I am truly honored and proud to take over from Kurtis and step into this role. Leading a company that has already achieved so much is an incredible opportunity. As we celebrate 30 years of business, I am eager to explore the many opportunities for future growth.”
Kurtis Lindqvist, who has been with LINX for eight years and served as CEO since 2019, announced his departure earlier this year. Under his leadership, LINX has expanded its services and solidified its position as a major player in the global Internet exchange market.
