Cross-Border Domain Transfer Innovation: Dubai Siblings Acquire JioHotstar Domain, Writing a New Chapter in Digital Assets.

Recently, a unique domain transfer case has caught industry attention. Jainam Jain, a 13-year-old boy from Dubai, and his 10-year-old sister Jivika Jain successfully acquired the JioHotstar domain, adding a distinctive case to the domain trading market.

According to reports, the domain was previously owned by a Delhi-based app developer. After rumors of the merger between Jio Cinema and Hotstar emerged, the developer astutely registered the JioHotstar domain and attempted to sell it to Reliance Industries for over one crore rupees (approximately $120,000), but was unsuccessful.

Surprisingly, the domain ended up in the hands of two young buyers. The Dubai-based siblings stated that they facilitated this transaction during their “Seva journey” in India. They not only participated in local children’s education but also completed the domain purchase through fundraising.

In the updated website content, Jainam and Jivika expressed their acquisition philosophy: “Through sharing our journey here, we aim to inspire others and keep the domain open for future sale to anyone who wants to continue this positive mission.” This approach of combining business transactions with charitable causes demonstrates the unique perspective of new-generation investors.

Notably, the original domain holder had planned to use the proceeds from the domain sale to fund his MBA studies at Cambridge University. Although the final transaction amount was not disclosed, this case has become a special example in the cross-border domain trading market.

Currently, Reliance Industries has not issued an official statement regarding this domain transfer. However, this child-led domain acquisition case may bring new insights to the digital asset trading market.

Industry experts point out that this case reflects the diversification trend in the domain investment market while indicating that the younger generation’s awareness and participation in digital assets is increasing. With the continued development of the digital economy, similar innovative cases may become more common.
