.ART Announces 2025 Kasimov Art Therapy Fellowship Recipients, Continuing Its Commitment to Healing Through Art

In celebration of World Art Day on April 15, .ART Registry has announced the 2025 recipients of the prestigious Kasimov Art Therapy Fellowship. This initiative is part of .ART’s ongoing “Healing Power of Art” program, which supports aspiring art therapists dedicated to using creative expression as a tool for healing and community well-being.

Established by .ART founder and CEO Mr. Kasimov and his wife, the fellowship was inspired by their daughter Medina, who was born with conditions that affect her verbal communication. Through art, Medina discovered a new way to express herself. That personal journey became the foundation of a global philanthropic mission—one that now empowers future therapists to harness the healing power of art.

Funded by a $1 million endowment to The George Washington University’s renowned Art Therapy Program, the fellowship eases the financial challenges for students entering a field that demands intensive study and internships but often offers modest compensation, particularly in nonprofit and public service roles.

2025 Kasimov Fellowship Recipients:

  • Christian De Jesus – A Puerto Rican student art therapist whose work blends creative expression with advocacy to support emotional healing.
  • Karina Monroy – A mixed media artist and art therapy student from California, exploring feminine ancestry and cultural healing through creative practices.

2024 Fellowship Recipients (in review):

  • Bethany Eddleman – An artist, educator, and therapist from North Carolina committed to inclusive, community-centered care for diverse populations.
  • Chengjiaoyang Xue – A China-based art therapist focused on raising awareness and accessibility for mental health through cross-cultural approaches.

“We believe art can transform lives,” said Mr. Kasimov. “Through this fellowship, we proudly support students who will use creativity to bring healing to individuals and communities around the world.”

As part of World Art Day celebrations, .ART will host a live webinar on April 17, 2025, inviting the public to explore how art is used globally as a tool for healing across cultures, borders, and disciplines.
